Eating Out

The onsite restaurant 'Osmans' offers a good varied menu at reasonable prices for relaxed dining. For an excellent setting and a la carte menu a must is an evening at 'The Leaf' restaurant located at Royal Heights. The restaurant overlooks the sea and you can watch the sunset (please see gallery for sunset images). A courtesy shuttle bus will collect you from turquoise and return you back at the end of the evening.

The local fishing village Guvercinlik is home to many restaurants, most of which will come and collect you from the resort and return you after your meal at no charge.

If you decide to go further a field the selection of restaurants is excellent in Bodrum Town. The marina is packed with choice whether you fancy a traditional Turkish meal or a taste from home their will be something to satisfy your taste. Obviously seafood is the speciality. A must while in Turkey is to enjoy a meal at the exclusive Marina Yacht club (www.marinayachtclub.com).

Bodrum Town

Bodrum offers something for all whether history is your passion, designer clothing & accessories or just meandering around the cobbled streets soaking up the relaxed atmosphere; this truly is a place for all tastes.

Mausoleum of Halicarnassus

Bodrum is home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus. The mausoleum was completed in 350 BC, however, there is not a lot left to see of this ancient and once magnificent tomb as after almost 19 centuries an earthquake destroyed it in 1304.

Today the site has pleasant gardens with excavations to the right and a covered arcade to the left. Despite the lack of the original tomb, this site is still well worth a visit. For further details visit www.bodrumpages.com/English/mausoleum.html

Bodrum Castle

Constructed between 1406 & 1522 by the Saint Jean knights on Zephia Island, as a result of their original castles in Izmir, Girit and Istankoy, being destroyed by Tamburlaine Khan (the Turkish supreme ruler of Tatar tribes).

The castle is now a museum and was officially opened in 1961. For further details visit www.bodrum-museum.com
